DairyTas Board update

DairyTas is calling for nominations to fill three Board vacancies.

To be elected as a director, applicants must undergo a selection process overseen by an independent selection panel. If you are interested in applying, please contact Geoff Cox, Chair of the TFGA Dairy Council and Head of the Selection Panel on 0438 532 171 or email nview@vision.net.au.

Applications must be received via email by close of business Friday 29 September.

From DairyTas Acting Chair, Ben Maile

We would also like to take the opportunity to thank our outgoing Directors: Angelique Korpershoek, Josh Taylor and Kate Gofton for their years of service to DairyTas.

As a past Chair, Angelique has brought strong level of governance a voice of the farmer and extensive knowledge in animal health. She became a board member to give back to the industry that has provided her with many opportunities in both career and lifestyle, and to make a positive contribution to the future direction of dairy farming in Tasmania.

Angelique is very passionate about educating the younger generations on the career pathways and financial successes the industry can offer and ensuring that, despite the challenges of farming, dairy farmers have the tools to continue to farm in a sustainable, efficient and profitable way.

Josh has been our industry representative for the past six years. He has been our numbers man, the devil’s advocate, and is now a bit of a dairy man too.

Josh joined the DairyTas board in November 2017. He operates from North-west Tasmania as a contract Chief Financial Officer, with 20 years’ experience as a Certified Practicing Accountant in Australia and internationally. Josh is a director of Circular Head Farms, a community-based managed investment scheme that owns and operates five dairy farms in Circular Head, along with significant support land holdings.

We would also thank and acknowledge the contribution of Kate Gofton, who recently stepped down as Chair and off the DairyTas Board after two years. Alongside her husband, Kate owns and manages Riverdale Dairies near Scottsdale, North-east Tasmania. Kate is a fully qualified accountant and a member of CPA Australia and as Chair, was committed to promoting the value of the Australian dairy industry and ensuring agricultural sustainability for future generations.

To the departing Board directors – who have been highly valuable contributors – thank you for your time, commitment, and passion over your tenure.
