It is a good idea for dairy farmers to think about hazards, risks and areas of vulnerability on their property at least once a year. Checklists are a simple way to manage general contingency and emergency planning for the business. Recognising hazards, then taking steps to reduce or prevent them, should create a safer environment for everyone on the farm. The checklists are not designed to be all-inclusive, but may be a useful starting point or guide.
